Welcome to Long Creek Fire Department’s Recruiting page, where you will find all the answers on the requirements and how to’s, on becoming a member of our Department. Below are a few items needed to help speed up the application process.
- DMV Driving history from NC State
- Criminal Background Check from Mecklenburg County(Can be obtained at court house)
- Copy of High School/College Diploma
- Copy of Drivers Licence
- Copies of all FF/EMT related certifications
- Fill out our Application to it’s entirety.(Soon to be posted on our website)
After all that Information is gathered, stop by the station located at 6809 Beatties Ford Rd, Monday thru Friday from 9am-5pm and hand in your completed application to one of our members there. Once completed, you will be getting a call from one of our recruiting members. From there, they will set up a time to interview possible applicants to proceed to the next step. After successful completion of the interview, you will be called a second time to come in and take the JRPAT(Job Related Physical Ability Test) which consists of running, push ups, ans sit ups. Upon successful completion of the JRPAT, the recruiting team will then turn the applicants information over to the members in which the applicant will be asked to come to our monthly meeting and introduce themselves as a possible member. At that time, they will be either voted on or not voted on the department. After the final vote of the members, the applicant has now become a probationary member of the Long Creek Fire Department. Rules and expectations of a probationary member will be discussed with the applicant at that time.
